Turns out, Obama may be so bitter about that that he didn't even bother to call the Packers or MVP Aaron Rodgers to congratulate them on the win. From RCP via drudge:
White House press secretary says President Obama hasn't called anyone from the Packers team after they won the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Video at the link. Sour. Grapes. Or maybe he's just getting tired of giving teams the kiss of death. From one year ago: Obama gave Colts the kiss of death, picked them to win. Colts lose Super Bowl XLIV to Saints 31-17. He also thought the Olympics were a shoo-in for Chicago because of his involvement (epic fail), that Corzyn would win in New Jersey, Deeds in Virginia, Coakley in Massachusetts, and that he would by himself succeed in Copenhagen. That was 0-5 a year ago there tough guy! What it's up to now is anyone's guess...
"If we're fighting to reform the tax code and increase exports, the benefits cannot just translate into greater profits and bonuses for those at the top. They have to be shared by American workers, who need to know that opening markets will lift their standard of living as well as your bottom line,"
The tea party wants the government to obey the US Constitution that every elected official swears to uphold. The Muslim Brotherhood are predicated on slitting the throat of every Jew in Israel down to the last woman and child, after which they want every country on the planet to be a Muslim caliphate and enforce Sharia Law. Which do you think scare liberals the most? You have 3 guesses and the first two don't count. Answer:
This was a protester at a pro-Egypt rally during Super Bowl weekend in LA - a city infested with such moonbats.
"The ruined Spanish-Gothic interior of the United Artists Theater in Detroit. The cinema was built in 1928 by C Howard Crane, and finally closed in 1974"
The place is also crime-ridden beyond description. Detroit is one of most dangerous cities on the PLANET, alongside Baghdad and Beirut, as ranked by CNN this spring. It's so bad that the Detroit government is abdicating its #1 responsibility - protection of the people - to criminals, drug dealers and the homeless. 20% of the city will be without police or fire protection.
In any case, with all that being said, it's interesting that a Chrysler commercial calls their own cars Detroit IMPORTS:
The Chrysler YouTube caption: "The Chrysler 200 has arrived. Imported from Detroit." The ad is right and wrong about one thing. Detroit has been to hell. But it's not back. How do I know? Because they're still electing the same Democrats that ran the city so far into the ground that it did go to hell in the first place.
Only 27 percent of likely voters favor raising the nation’s $14.3 trillion debt ceiling, while 62 percent oppose it, according to an exclusive poll for The Hill.
The poll found solid opposition from Republicans and also from independent voters, who are critical to President Obama’s re-election in 2012.
Seventy-seven percent of likely GOP voters and 64 percent of independent voters said they don’t want the debt ceiling to be raised. Even among Democrats, more oppose raising the ceiling (46 percent) than support it (42 percent).
Winning the congressional vote to raise the debt ceiling is a crucial test for the president. House and Senate Republicans are using the vote, which must take place soon, in an effort to secure deep spending cuts from the White House.
Enter the doomsayers:
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and White House officials warn of dire consequences if the debt ceiling is not raised.
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke also warned lawmakers last week not to use the vote as a bargaining chip, saying it would be “catastrophic” if the nation defaulted. But the poll, conducted by Pulse Opinion Research among 1,000 likely voters, suggests the administration’s message is not resonating beyond the Beltway.
From CNN via Instapundit, Bill Gates on the autism/vaccination hoax:
Well, Dr. Wakefield has been shown to have used absolutely fraudulent data. He had a financial interest in some lawsuits, he created a fake paper, the journal allowed it to run. All the other studies were done, showed no connection whatsoever again and again and again. So it’s an absolute lie that has killed thousands of kids. Because the mothers who heard that lie, many of them didn’t have their kids take either pertussis or measles vaccine, and their children are dead today. And so the people who go and engage in those anti-vaccine efforts — you know, they, they kill children. It’s a very sad thing, because these vaccines are important.
But there is quite a big irony in the above. You see, Bill Gates is a huge fan of vaccinations. So much so that he wants to vaccinate away 1 billion people right off the face of the planet. From a prior post from October 2010: Video: Bill Gates wants to kill 1 billion people by vaccination to save planet from non-existent global warming.
Bill Gates should stick to writing computer code, because when he gets into the natural sciences, he sounds like Obama without a teleprompter. Which is to say a complete and utter moron. For instance, he wants our 'carbon footprint' to go down to zero. ZERO. So stop breathing!
“Well, I’ve never attended a CPAC conference ever so I was a little taken aback this go around when I couldn’t make it to this one either and then there was a speculation well I either agree or disagree with some of the groups or issues that CPAC is discussing. It really is a matter of time for me. But when it comes to and David, perhaps what it is that you’re suggesting in the question is should the GOP, should conservatives not reach out to others, not participate in events or forums that perhaps are rising within those forums are issues that maybe we don’t personally agree with? And I say no, it’s like you being on a panel shoot, with a bunch of the liberal folks whom you have been on and you provide good information and balance, and you allow for healthy debate, which is needed in order for people to gather information and make up their own minds about issues. I look at participation in an event like CPAC or any other event, along, or kind of in that same vein as the more information that people have the better.”
This is part of the interview of Obama with Bill O'Reilly:
A tax cutter? He raised taxes on cigarettes right out of the gate, and then levied some $700 billion in taxes when the ObamaCare bill was signed into law. How is he claiming to be a tax cutter? Even the deal he made with Republicans to extend tax rates for 2 years he can't claim is a cut because everyone's taxes stay the same. Not increasing taxes is not tantamount to a cut.
Australia has had record floods this year, the most recent because of a cyclone:
But it's not just because of cyclones. Perhaps the majority of why the flooding is occurring is because the entire ruling class in Australia has been preparing for sustained droughts that were predicted by global warming alarmists for at least 2 decades now. From the UKTelegraph not long ago: Did Australia's obsession with global warming contribute to the Brisbane floods?
Who, if anyone, is to blame for the terrible flooding in Brisbane? Commentators are pointing their collective finger at the usual suspects. For the extreme green magazine Grist, the floods expose mankind’s arrogance in believing that he can build settlements anywhere he likes, even on floodplains. Nature is “taking a perverse pleasure in pointing out just where the shiny, might city is weakest”, gloats Grist. Others are blaming Aussie property developers, for thoughtlessly throwing up flood-prone buildings, and yet others think Queensland politicians should have done more to improve flood defences.
But might there be another, so far overlooked, contributing factor to the floods? Might the politics of environmentalism itself – the contemporary obsession with global warming as the greatest threat to mankind – have exacerbated the impact of the flooding in Brisbane? It seems possible that Aussie politicians’ and officials’ deeply held conviction that the main problem we face today is increased heat, droughts and a lack of rainfall caused them to take their eye off the ball in Brisbane, and to be unprepared for something as relatively normal as very heavy rainfall.
So basically, Australia is swimming in 4-foot deep liberal idiocy.
For the record I'm rooting about 65-35 for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I have like the Green Bay Packers (and still have a cheesehead from the last time the Pack made it to the Super Bowl) but this year I don't think will be theirs. I will admit, however, that I was likely in error when I opined that Green Bay made a mistake by letting Brett Favre go after being a single play short of making the Super Bowl.
5:50pm - In what I can only describe as CLASSY AS YOU CAN BE, the NFL has seen fit to read the Declaration of Independence by a multitude of people. Unalienable right. THE CREATOR. Heck Yeah!
6:00pm - Let the game begin!
6:10pm: I'll repeat myself -LET THE GAME BEGIN! Is it me, or does the difference between when the network says the game will begin, and when the game actually begins, get bigger and bigger every year?
By the way, I'm sure both teams are thankful that Obama didn't pick them. Recall that Obama wanted to go to the Super Bowl thinking the Chicago Bears were going there. They got blown out.
6:24pm: Let. The. Game. Begin! Pleeeeeeaaaaase!
6:31pm: Finally the coin flip. Kick the ball off already!
6:35pm: Steelers start with a pass to Ward and then a terrible handoff way too far back in the backfield for a loss. 3 and out for Pitt.
6:40pm: Aaron Rogers starts the Pack's first series slinging the ball, as he should. Incomplete. Then a run for almost zero. Starting just like Pitt. An off-sides on the next play though and Rogers completes the pass for the first 1st down of the game.
6:42pm: Nelson drops a pass deep that could have gone for 6. Right through his arms. Packers punt. Touchback. Bring on the commercials!
6:44pm: So far the commercials are lame. An audi commercial that had only 9% to do with cars. Back to the game.
6:49pm: Heath Miller drops a tough catch, one that he's made many times. Pitt punts.
6:51pm: What's with all the Doritos commercials (they suck). So do the other commercials.
6:55pm:The Pack putting together a good drive, and then take a time out for no apparent reason.
6:59pm: After more sucky commercials, a clip of Geroge W Bush watching the game. I like RB James Starks for the Pack. Nelson scores a TD for the Pack, making up for the drop earlier.
Packers 7, Steelers 0
7:02pm: So far the Steeler's defense seems 1/2 step behind. But it's early. But if they don't get to Rogers, it's going to be a long evening for them.
7:06pm: So far, the commercials that tried to be funny are the ones where people get hurt. The blond that takes the Pepsi Max can to the face? In a few years, it's going to be a guy getting his nuts dinged in perpetuity: 7:07pm: Steeler's first play - Rothlisberger gets picked for 6. What was he thinking?
Packers 14 Steelers 0
The Packers scores 2 TD within seconds of one another (in football time)
7:10pm: Miwelde Moore still plays football? Takes the kick for not much. Mendenhall is playing well, one of the few bright spots for the Steelers so far.
1st quater coming to an end. One that the Steeler's will want to forget. They're off to a bad start but driving.
7:22pm: After a decent drive, the Steelers settle for a field goal.
Packers 14 Steelers 3
7:29pm: Packers 3 and out. The Steelers really went after Rogers this time. What kept you guys?
7:35pm: The Steelers are really hurting themselves with holding penalties. The offense sure doesn't need any of those as they are getting off to a slow start.
7:42pm: Rothlisburger gets picked off again. Ugh...
7:47pm: The Steelers just look flat on both sides of the ball.Packers score again.
Packers 21 Steelers 3
At this point, and it's still early, the Steelers are just getting routed. Not that the Packers are playing all that great. The Steelers simply haven't shown up yet. Rogers has 2 TD passes while Rothlisberger has 2 ints, one that got returned for 6.
7:55pm: Lots of player getting up hurt the first half. Rothlisburger completes a critical pass on 3rd and 10. Then completes another one to Hines Ward setting up 1st and goal. Touchdown!
Packers 21 Steelers 10
If only they can hold the Packers to nothing on their last drive, they have some momentum going into the 2nd half. Only 39 seconds left in the half.
8:02pm: Halftime. Turns out, some were turned away from the game because of... GLOBAL WARMING! 8:31pm: Used halftime to get the kids in bed. Packers start out with a penalty that backs them up 10 yards. Steelers have an opportunity for a 3 and out. On 2nd and 10, Packers get a false start penalty. 2rd and 6 coming up. A dropped pass (that could have easily been a TD) and a 3 and out for the Pack. Let's see what the Steelers do with their first possession of the 2nd half.
8:42pm: Steelers driving. Mendenhall had such a good run (17 yards) that an audio guy on the sideways was the only one that could stop him. After a great run, Steelers first and goal. Just like that, we may have a competitive game here. Mendenhall scores!
Packers 21 Steelers 17
The Steelers looked cooked until that last drive of the first half. They have now scored 14 straight and have all the momentum.
8:44pm: Franco Harris, no surprise, thinks the Steelers will win: 8:47pm: Packer held to another 3 and out!
9:00pm: Steeler try a field goal and it was WAY off. The Steeler drive was decent though, but the Packers will have good field position because of the miss.
9:07pm: Packers start out with an 18-yard completion. Get into Steeler territory in one play. On 3rd and 5, Steelers call a time out. They're running out of time outs like the Cardinals did against them a few years back that cost them the game. But it pays off here as the Packers face 4th down and punt.
9:08pm: Steelers go 3 and out as a pass goes right through Wallace's hands.
9:17pm: After a long review, the Packers go 3 and out and teh Steelers get good field position. We're at the end of the 3rd quarter and if the Steelers are going to make a statement, this is the time to do it.
9:22pm: End of the 3rd quarter.after another good Mendenhall run.
9:24pm: After the break, Mendenhall fumbles and the Packers recover. Yet another turnover. The Steelers are shooting themselves in the foot.
9:30pm: Packers score TD
Packers 28 Steelers 17
The Packers have scored 21 points off of turnovers.
9:41pm: A great drive and on 3rd and 3 Rothlisberger goes deep and scores! Pitt goes for 2 and succeeds!
Packers 28 Steelers 25
The big question now is if the Steelers can hold the Packers.
9:50pm: Well, my question got answered, and it is a 'no.' But the Packers were held to a field goal.
Packers 31 Steelers 25
Interestingly, this is almost the identical situation that the Steelers found themselves in against the Cardinals a few years back now. It looked like a sure thing that the Cards would win then and the Steelers pulled out the win in the last minute. The Steelers better shed their sloppy first 3.45 quarters though as one single turnover will end the game.
10:05pm: They're taking WAY too much time each play. WAY too much. Took them almost a minute for a couple of plays for not a whole lot of yardage. 1:02 left. 4th down already. Incomplete. Game over.
Packers 31 Steelers 25
In the end, the Steelers beat themselves. This is not going to go down as an ESPN classic. Probably the worst Super Bowl in the last decade. Neither team showed up.

Tonight, Young America’s Foundation held a banquet honoring the 100th birthday of Ronald Reagan. Sarah Palin delivered the keynote. Palin lovers will love it. Palin haters will hate it. She, of course, delivered glowing praise of Reagan, and compared his fight to preserve the freedom and the ideal of the American dream to today’s battle to do the same. There was talk of the danger in viewing “American exceptionalism” as “exceptionally big government.”
...Randy Barnett saw it, and emailed: “I must admit it was an impressive speech. The first I have heard her give since she accepted the VP nomination, only much better. The New York Times has turned into that chic with the mustache decrying scrutiny on Britney Spears years ago. 'Leave Planned Parenthood alone!:'
Planned Parenthood has been on a never-ending crusade to butcher babies. An undercover investigation has revealed what many of us already know - Planned Parenthood is in the bottom of the moral gutter hanging onto evil of the most depraved variety. In the most recent episode, they were caught on undercover camera helping a pimp cover up child sex slavery. It is, after all, far less than dismembering babies. So there's that. From the New York Times via memeorandum: The Siege of Planned Parenthood. It starts off quite ironically for an organization that has declared war on the child:
As if we didn’t have enough wars, the House of Representatives has declared one against Planned Parenthood.
Maybe it’s all part of a grand theme. Last month, they voted to repeal the health care law. This month, they’re going after an organization that provides millions of women with both family-planning services and basic health medical care, like pap smears and screening for diabetes, breast cancer, cervical cancer and sexually transmitted diseases.
1) Plenty of local government clinics already provide those things, 2) Planned Parenthood also provides pimps counsel of how to not get caught in perpetrating CHILD SEX SLAVERY! And then the lies start to really flow:
Planned Parenthood doesn’t use government money to provide abortions; Congress already prohibits that, except in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother. ...
Which leads me to 3), if federal money goes toward heating an abortion butcher shop and keeping the lights on plus power to run that vacuum machine, how can it be argues that the money doesn't go towards perpetrating abortions?
Planned Parenthood does pay for its own abortion services, though, and that’s what makes them a target. Pence has 154 co-sponsors for his bill. He was helped this week by an anti-abortion group called Live Action, which conducted a sting operation at 12 Planned Parenthood clinics in six states, in an effort to connect the clinic staff to child prostitution.
“Planned Parenthood aids and abets the sexual abuse and prostitution of minors,” announced Lila Rose, the beautiful anti-abortion activist who led the project. The right wing is currently chock-full of stunning women who want to end their gender’s right to control their own bodies. Homely middle-aged men are just going to have to find another sex to push around.

When Mayor Bloomberg came into office there was just one executive cook at Gracie Mansion to make the VIP feasts.
Today there are three - costing taxpayers a whopping $245,000 this year.
And despite the big spending cuts the mayor has ordered across every city agency, too many cooks won't be spoiling the broth at the city-owned mansion.
According to figures revealed by the New York Daily News, his longest-serving man in the kitchen, Feliberto Estevez, picks up $97,000.
His pastry chef Jerry Montanez who was hired in 2007 is paid $68,000 while Jose Velazquez is on $80,000 after getting a $10,000 pay rise last July.

Planned Parenthood gets caught on tape helping perpetrate CHILD SEX SLAVERY, and it barely makes a splash across the establishment MSM. But New Jersey Gove Chris Christie notices, and aborted its funding. From Life News:
Following the release of a video that has received nationwide attention showing Planned Parenthood staff at a New Jersey abortion center helping alleged sexual traffickers cover up their crimes with abortions and STD testing, Governor Chris Christie has vetoed a bill funding Planned Parenthood.
A new undercover video shows Planned Parenthood officials in New Jersey telling a pimp and his prostitute assistant how they can get abortions for young teenage girls who, Planned Parenthood officials are informed, are Asians in the country illegally and forced into the sex trade. The staffer was later fired for her actions.
The Perth Amboy abortion center where the video is filmed is the second-largest Planned Parenthood center operated by Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey and the abortion business plans to double its number of abortion centers in the state.
Christie has already yanked state taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood but the state legislature sent him a bill to restore the taxpayer funds.

Somewhere out there, God is laughing at global warming alarmists. Here is what Cowboys Stadium looks like just a day before the Super Bowl (click to play video):
As bowling ball-size chunks of ice fell on him from the roof of Cowboys Stadium on Friday afternoon, Win McNamee said he didn't think he would survive.
"Honestly, while it was hitting me, I was thinking I'm going to die here," McNamee said. "It was pretty frightening."
McNamee, a veteran photographer who works for Getty Images, was one of six people injured by falling ice outside the site of Sunday's Super Bowl XLV in Arlington. He broke his left shoulder in four places and was planning to fly home to Washington, D.C., on Saturday and undergo surgery soon.
Runways too snowy to receive airliners packed with football fans. Sidewalks too icy for cowboy boots. Temperatures too cold to distinguish Dallas from Pittsburgh or Green Bay.

There continues to be story after story almost on a daily basis providing ever better reason to keep your children home to homeschool lest the moonbats get a hold of them and steep them in liberal ideology. The UK is ground zero for such indoctrination and the liberals on this side of the pond always seem to follow. From I Hate The Media via HotAir headlines: Cramming it in where it doesn’t belong: UK schools introduce gay math, geography and science
Things haven’t gone so well in the United Kingdom for the last hundred years or so. So the nation’s leaders have decided that what its school children really need is a celebration of the gay community in math, geography and science courses.
The initiative will be officially launched next month at the start of “LGBT History Month” — an initiative to encourage teaching about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual issues.
The lesson plans, spread across the curriculum, will be offered to all schools, which can choose whether or not to make use of them.
But critics last night called the initiative a poor use of public money which could distract from the teaching of “core” subjects.
Among the suggestions are:
Maths — teaching statistics through census findings about the number of homosexuals in the population, and using gay characters in scenarios for maths problems;
Can’t wait to hear how they explain that gays can’t multiply.
Design and technology — encouraging pupils to make symbols linked to the gay rights movement;
Like a giant limp wrist unfurling a rainbow flag. But be careful when spelling flag, kiddos.
Science – studying animal species where the male takes a leading role in raising young, such as emperor penguins and sea horses, and staging class discussions on different family structures, including same-sex parents;
And unicorns. Don’t forget the unicorns. They’re, like, the gayest animals ever.
Geography — examining the transformation of San Francisco’s Castro district in the 1960s from a working-class Irish area to the world’s first “gay neighbourhood”, and considering why homosexuals move from the countryside to cities; ...
Van Helsing comments over at moonbattery:
The totalitarian moonbattery that holds sway in British public schools has taken the final plunge into absurdity with a curriculum that features gay math, geography, and science. No matter what the subject, kids will be taught to revere the depraved and disease-spreading homosexual lifestyle. ...It goes without saying that no one who isn't profoundly sick would want to promote homosexual perversion to children. But in the final ghastly stages of cultural suicide by liberalism, profoundly sick is the new normal.
Let’s be clear: promoting science isn’t just about providing resources – it is also about protecting free and open inquiry. It is about letting scientists … do their jobs, free from manipulation or coercion, and listening to what they tell us, even when it’s inconvenient – especially when it’s inconvenient. It is about ensuring that scientific data is never distorted or concealed to serve a political agenda – and that we make scientific decisions based on facts, not ideology. -President Obama, March 9, 2009.
Well, here we have Obama deliberately concealing scientific data for... political ideology:
RedState has uncovered evidence - confirmed by the CDC’s own press office - that the Obama administration is deliberately playing “hide the ball” on nationwide abortion statistics. For apparently the first time in 40 years, the CDC’s annual “Abortion Surveillance Report” was not published, and there are “no plans” for the data to be produced at this time.
Whatever you feel about abortion and its legality, virtually all people agree that transparency and factual accuracy are important in the abortion debate. That is why even Planned Parenthood spends a substantial amount of money each year funding the Guttmacher Institute’s studies on abortion statistics. While pro-life groups have long contended that Guttmacher’s methods systematically undercount abortions, that is beside the point; the Guttmacher studies have long provided a consistent source for studying abortion trends over time. Which aggregate data, we re-emphasize, is important not only for both sides of the idealogical debate, but is also important medical information.
Funny how Obama is deep-sixing abortion numbers less than a year after ramming through ObamaCare that he promised wouldn't increase abortions. Something to hide there, O? More from Live Action, LifeNews and Nice Deb
And no - there is no typo in that headline. A citizen actually came up with a traffic plan. Wrote it up. Presented it to the state with diagrams and projections. But then enter the bureaucrat who can't let a good deed go unpunished. Kevin Lacy, chief traffic engineer for the state DOT came along and wants the citizen charged with a misdemeanor for practicing engineering without a license. I kid you not! From New Observer via Instapundit, memeorandum: Citizen activist grates on state over traffic signals
David N. Cox says he was merely exercising his right to petition the government, but a state Department of Transportation official has raised allegations that Cox committed a misdemeanor: practicing engineering without a license.
Cox and his North Raleigh neighbors are lobbying city and state officials to add traffic signals at two intersections as part of a planned widening of Falls of Neuse Road.
After an engineering consultant hired by the city said that the signals were not needed, Cox and the North Raleigh Coalition of Homeowners' Associations responded with a sophisticated analysis of their own.
The eight-page document with maps, diagrams and traffic projections was offered to buttress their contention that signals will be needed at the Falls of Neuse at Coolmore Drive intersection and where the road meets Tabriz Point / Lake Villa Way.
It did not persuade Kevin Lacy, chief traffic engineer for the state DOT, to change his mind about the project. Instead, Lacy called on a state licensing agency, the N.C. Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors, to investigate Cox.
J Kevin Lacy
Here's the kicker:
...Lacy says he filed the complaint because the report "appears to be engineering-level work" by someone who is not licensed as a professional engineer.
When you go fight city hall, make sure you make yourself look incompetent. If you must present a diagram, make sure it scribbles with crayons. When the bureacrats smell competence, it must be quashed with all speed. More from Reason Hit & Run and Right Wing News
Bryant said Lacy was trying to intimidate Cox and his neighbors and suppress their rights to petition government officials.
“No one signed it as an engineer,” Bryant said. “They simply put together their feelings and their information. When we can’t do that without fear of potential criminal prosecution, that takes away our rights.”
A spokesman for Perdue said the governor, a Democrat, had pledged to take politics out of transportation planning. . . .
Transportation Secretary Gene Conti, a Perdue appointee, said the DOT has used residents’ feedback to change the Falls of Neuse project. He endorsed Lacy’s request for an investigation.

A new Senate report on the 2009 Fort Hood shooting blames the FBI and Department of Defense for failing to recognize or act on alleged shooter Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan’s extremist views.
The report, released today by Senate Homeland Security Committee chairman Joe Lieberman and ranking Republican Susan Collins, says the FBI and DOD could have prevented the shooting if they had identified Hasan’s radical Islamist views and disciplined or discharged him before the attack occurred.
“Our report’s painful conclusion is that the Fort Hood massacre could have and should have been prevented,” Lieberman said at a press conference today.
“The fact is that both the FBI and the Army were aware of Major Hasan,” Collins said. “This is not a case where a lone wolf was unknown to the FBI, unknown to the military officials, until he struck – and that is the tragedy of this case.”
The November 2009 shooting killed 13 people and wounded 32 others.
The 91 page report is titled A Ticking Time Bomb: Counterterrorism Lessons from the US Government’s Failure to Prevent the Fort Hood Attack. The gist of it is that the FBI and Hasan’s superiors had more than enough information to prevent the shootings and likely would have done so if not for political correctness.
Funny that conservatives pointed to this being the likely reason right after the shooting. That wasn't jumping to conclusions. That was common sense! More from Scared Monkeys, The Daily Caller and THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS
Liberals are so hostile to the 2nd amendment that even images of that explicit constitutional right can now land you in jail in Hawaii if the moonbat ruling class over there has its way. The text of HB 432:
It shall be unlawful to sell, attempt to sell, or offer for sale a toy gun to a minor under eighteen years of age… Any person who violates this section shall be subject to a fine of not more than $2,000, imprisonment of not more than ninety days, or both.
The mainstream news media will likely latch on to the dropping unemployment rate, despite job gains that were less than one-fourth of the consensus estimate of 148,000 jobs added. One of the CNBC panelists noted that the increase was "way below consensus."
CNBC's Rick Santelli even lashed out at some of the CNBC "Squawk Box" panel that were discussing the latest jobs report.
"[W]e have overwhelming evidence the jobs market is disappointing, and all of you are trying to look for that one half of spaghetti in a 50 lb. spaghetti bowl. This is not great data," Santelli claimed. "We know that the U6 probably gives you a better indication of the true unemployment rate …"
CNBC's Steve Liesman interjected: "It went down, Rick. It went down - "
"Yeah, what is it?" asked Santelli.
"It went down Rick, to 16.1 [percent]," Liesman said.
"Oh boy, guys! 16.1 [percent] is probably the unemployment rate. That's cause celebre," Rick sarcastically shouted on the trading floor of the Chicago mercantile exchange.
"But it fell from 16.7," Liesman insisted.
Santelli continued to criticize the spin: "You know what Steve? You and I both know that the unemployment rate, the labor force moving in and out, those giving up, is really probably your best statistical reason for the drop to 9.0 (percent). And in terms of jobs, you, Mr. Steve Liesman, said if you work just one day. If you stay home but you get paid you're counted in the data …"

Obama Derangement Syndrome for the liberal is sorta like Bush Derangement Syndrome, except that where in BDS W could do know right, for those afflicted with ODS The One can do no wrong, and thus all data no matter how utterly crappy is still seen as good. Kind of like this:

Its plunging. So “9% unemployment” is so meaningless at this point. I’m surprised it’s reported at all. Also note that U-6 (generally referred to as the ‘real’ unemployment rate) jumped to 17.3 from 16.6 in dec 2010.
It took hatchet sites like Media Matters about 2 nanoseconds to launch the smears:
Unfortunately for Media Matters, more videos were released - unedited - showing that Planned Parenthood ghouls were more than willing to advise pimps on how to hide child sex slavery. From BreitbartTV:
Live Action Films has released three more videos as part of their on-going undercover investigation of Planned Parenthood. The three videos are from three different clinics in Virginia and, according to Live Action, they are unedited and complete.
In a written statement, Live Action founder Lila Rose said: Today, we are sending Attorney General Cuccinelli and Virginia law enforcement officials new, disturbing footage from three Virginia clinics. The footage explicitly shows Planned Parenthood staff willing to engage in activity that sexually exploits minors and young women. The evidence continues to mount, and shows a clear pattern where Planned Parenthood is willing aid and abet the sex-trafficking industry. These are abhorrent practices and it is time Planned Parenthood be held accountable.”

For those that continue to claim that GM will pay back most of the taxpayer bailout money, let me remind you all of the fiscal reality: Detroit News spews Obama propaganda: Feds to recoup $36 billion in bailout money, fail to mention GM receiving $45 billion tax furlough. But put your mind at east all you taxpayers. GM is using your tens of $billions wisely. For one thing, other than making a car for rich people that runs on coal, they are also making... Super Bowl commercial! Via MLive, watch the awesomeness of what you get from spending our hard-earned cash:
Misunderstanding: Michigan may be used to the soothing sounds of Tim Allen's baritone, but old people everywhere apparently have trouble understanding the tool man. In this spot for the Chevy Cruze Eco, residents in an assisted living facility bicker over misinterpretations of Allen's narration. Ageism never gets old.
Discovery: Sometime history is made in the sky, like when Ben Franklin decided to go fly a kite. And sometimes it's made at the end of a power cord, in a garage, attached to a Chevy Volt. In this one, Tim Allen goes for gravitas.
Tommy: The Chevy Silverado HD is the new Lassie. Minus the dander. What's that, you say Tommy fell down a well? Got stuck in a cave? Then followed Jonah into the belly of a whale? No problem, Silverado the rescue.
Al's Chevrolet: If you read this here website, you've seen this one. And you're aware you should "never mess with a Chevy, dude." Because if you do, that Chevy might just turn into a giant robot capable of maximum carnage while convincing you to go see Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Glee: This one's only 10 seconds. And yes, it appears to be a commercial for a commercial which the kids of "Glee" will star in during a post-game episode of "Glee." It's like a Charlie Kaufman script edited by Snookie, but Sue Sylvester thinks it will be "outstanding."
And finally:
Bonus! Miss Evelyn: This one will air after the MVP award. It's a Camaro, in a desert, navigating a bunch of mirrors, driven by a hot redhead teacher who dodges hay bales, bad guys and evades a helicopter in a daring escape. And other things a couple of Red Bull-binging brahs might dream up.
