Obama gave Colts the kiss of death, picked them to win. Colts lose Super Bowl XLIV to Saints 31-17

He also thought the Olympics were a shoo-in for Chicago because of his involvement (epic fail), that Corzyn would win in New Jersey, Deeds in Virginia, Coakley in Massachusetts, and that he would by himself succeed in Copenhagen. That's 0-5 there tough guy! From NFL.com: President Obama predicts Colts victory in Super Bowl XLIV
President Barack Obama said Sunday that the Indianapolis Colts "have to be favored" in the Super Bowl, even though he has a "soft spot" for the New Orleans Saints.

Obama's Super Bowl prediction was based on his opinion that the Colts have "perhaps the best quarterback in history."

"Peyton Manning is unbelievable," the president told CBS' Katie Couric during a live pregame interview.

Still, Obama said he has a soft spot for New Orleans, "mainly because of what the city has gone through over these last several years" since Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005.

Obama said he might be biased against the Colts since they beat his hometown Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI.
The Colts lost to the New Orleans Saints by a score of 31-17. Thanks a lot Barry! So how nervous is Harry Reid right now that Obama is promised to stump for him in Nevada???

UPDATE: Instapundit links! Thank you!

  1. Jerko calls it for the Colts--and blows it. But what the heck was he doing getting in the nation's collective face--again--on the warmup for the Super Bowl? Is nothing sacred?

  3. The Kentucky Wildcats also suffered their only defeat of the season on the day Obama called to congratulate them.

  4. Ouch! Funny, at the WaPo the Obama lovers are defending him by saying he actually picked BOTH the Colts and the Saints. Funny way to defend someone, if you ask me. On Superbowl Sunday, get your balls out of your wife's purse and make a pick.

    Lord, what an out-of-touch numbskull!

The Saints had never even gone to the Super Bowl in their 43 YEAR history, but this doofus decides to pour out his pint o' pity because the city was badly flooded five years ago, huh?

    0-5...yep, sho' nuff and what-ever.

What's important is that Louisiana and the rest of the "Who Dat? Nation" are going to be snot-slingin', toilet-huggin' drunk for the next week.

Allez les bon temps roulez, mes amis!

    Been a long time comin'

(And I'm STILL a Redskins Fan!)

  10. Obama's a douche.

If he were so smart, he might've recognized that he didn't have the information to make a judgment. He could've said something like, "I have a hunch but I just don't know."

But instead he walked out confidently where wise men fear to tread.

Obama wanted to demonstrate that he follows football closely, just like Joe-Sixpack. What he actually proved is that he doesn't know when to STFU. Barry, meet Humility. Humility this is Barry. I know y'all are strangers now but if you can learn to tolerate each others' company, this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

God help us from individuals who "know" things because they're so "smart."

  11. Being big Kentucky Wildcats fans, I told my girls to worry when President Obama called them before the game, and sure enough it was their first game loss of the season.
