Granholm: "It is liberating that I am term-limited and not running"

Now just substitute "running" with "leading" and you have the totality of Granholm's 2 terms in a nutshell. Judging by the tone of this interview, she simply cannot wait to tuck tail and run away as fast as possible, leaving behind her shear economic devastation that will require a generation to fix. More than 1 million jobs will have been blown away by the time she leaves office, and that from her own mouth. Speaking of, one of the biggest boneheaded political catch phrases in history:

With it being almost 5 years since she uttered that phrase, she now regrets it. From The Detroit Free Press: Granholm is OK with leaving office. All of us residents are OK with her leaving office too. the sooner the better.

For Gov. Jennifer Granholm, relief is just an election away.
"It is liberating that I am term-limited and not running. I don't have to worry," Granholm said Saturday on "Michigan Matters," on WWJ-TV (Channel 62).

When host Carol Cain asked about the state's prospects, Granholm quipped, "I'm not going to say, 'We'll be blown away.' "

She laughed and said that line from her 2006 State of the State speech was "a mistake."
She laughed. Laughed! Good grief man! Does she not see the destruction she has heaped upon the state up to this point? Laughed? Really??? What's funny?

Granholm's right, the choice of words was a mistake. Sadly, however, I've come to question the value of term limits, largely because term-limited politicians are lame ducks for their entire last term tenure.

Just look at the failure in leadership from Granholm during this summer's budget debacle, a disaster that's still not fully resolved. I am coming to the conclusion that term limits are not helpful even though I am opposed to the inertia of re-electing people simply because they're the incumbent.

But, yeah. As for Graholm, Michigan is pretty much blown away. As in scorched earth blown away.
