The Obama AP is something to behold. Doing the job a good state-run media should be doing - exulting dear leader in all times good or bad regardless of anything else. Especially in bad times, when Obama needs them th emost does the state-run media come to the rescue riding the white horse and yelling "ALL IS WELL!" Such is the case today as news breaks that the U.S. unemployment rate is now at 9.7%, the worst in 26 years. But don't worry, it could have been much, much worse according to the AP. Via the Detroit Free Press comes this: Jobless rate soars to 9.7%
The unemployment rate rose to 9.7% in August, the highest since June 1983, as employers eliminated a net total of 216,000 jobs.See? This is good news! Don't you get it you darned ingrates? So here's what's been going on under Obama's watch:Analysts expect businesses will be reluctant to hire until they are convinced the economy is on a firm path to recovery. Many private economists, and the Federal Reserve, expect the unemployment rate to top 10% by the end of this year.
While the jobless rate rose more than expected, the number of job cuts is less than July’s upwardly revised total of 276,000 and the lowest in a year, according to Labor Department data released today.
Remember that the stimulus package was supposed to stop the unemployment rate at 8%! A crisis could become a calamity? Remember that? Here's how that looks:January US jobs lost: 598,000 jobs
February US jobs lost: 706,000 jobs
March US jobs lost: 742,000 jobs
April US jobs lost: 545,000 jobs
May US jobs lost: 345,000 jobs
June US jobs lost: 467,000 jobs
July US jobs lost: 247,000 jobs
August US jobs lost: 216,000 jobsTotal US jobs lost under Obama: 3,866,000 jobs
Note that the blue lines are the numbers that Obama's team came up with. So the actual unemployment rate is not only worse that what would happen with porkulus, but even worse than was predicted without it.So how can the AP sugarcoat such numbers? It's hard, but they put in a yeoman's effort on this one. There's one sure-fire strategy that they always pull out in times like these - blame Bush!
The recession has eliminated a net total of 6.9 million jobs since it began in December 2007. There are now 14.9 million Americans unemployed. This statement sure makes it appear that most jobs were lost under Bush. I mean Bush had control for a full 13 months since December 2007, and Obama only 8 months, so surely it's mostly Bush's fault, right? Except that most of those jobs were lost under Obama in his short time in office. But it's Bush's recession, right? December 2007? Well, let's look at that claim also through GDP numbers:
Well, so much for that canard. The recession began in Q3 of 2008, not December 2007. It is simply a bald-faced lie by the AP and by extension The Detroit Free Press. Let's also not forget that it was Democrat policies that basically forced affirmative action policies into bank lending that caused the mortgage meltdown last fall in the first place - policies that Obama fought for with his community organizer brigade.Previously:

Obama: Stimulus Is Working Or Something
How does the MSM sugar-coat 565,000 new jobless claims? This is how:
AP strategy to give Obama cover as 467,000 more jobs cut in June, unemployment now at 9.5% - BLAME BUSH!
U.S. jobless rate jumps to 9.4 percent; stimulus a proven failure; MSM whitewashing
