Picking winners and loser, with life once again getting the short end of the stick. I mentioned just the other day that Obama's new budget changes the language governing funding for the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) and loosens it to allow LSC grantees to conduct abortion litigation. In addition, Obama has deemed it necessary to cut abstinence education as well. That too was in the budget. From LifNews: Barack Obama's Federal Budget Eliminates Funding for Abstinence-Only Education. Before he took over the White House, President Barack Obama made it clear he would cut abstinence funding. He has followed through as his new budget eliminates all federal funding for abstinence-only education and replaces it with sexual education. The budget eliminates funding for CBAE (Community Based Abstinence Education) and Title V Abstinence Education Program.
In Obama's FY 2010 Proposed Budget, the president calls for at least $164 million in funding for contraceptive-only education. The money includes competitive grants, research, evaluation and authorization for $50 million in new mandatory condom grants to states, tribes and territories.
Here's the problem with contraceptive-only sex-ed: it doesn't work. It doesn't even reduce the abortion rate at all.
According to the London Daily Mail teen pregnancy rates in England are now higher than they were in 1995 and pregnancies among girls under 16, below the age of sexual consent, are also at the highest level since 1998.That is despite the British government spending £300 million (that's over $454 million for those of us in the United States) in an attempt to cut the number of teen pregnancies in half by promoting comprehensive sexual education.
The British teen abortion rate, according to the newspaper, has also climbed steadily since 1999 when the government released its Teenage Pregnancy Strategy.
Again, that would be an aberration were it only an isolated case, but it is not.
Turns out many European countries that have heavily funded contraceptive education have seen the abortion rates increase as well. Worse yet, the British abortion rate is so high that half of teen pregnancies now end in abortion. Abortion advocates, disciples of Molech, are applauding this statistic!
Amazingly, Ann Furedi, the head of the British Pregnancy Advisory Service, applauded the new figures.
"The fact that teenagers felt able to end their pregnancy in abortion is actually a positive sign," she said.
Here's the telling statistic from that article as well:
The government has spent £300 million in an attempt to cut the number of teen pregnancies in half, but the expensive program has failed and teen pregnancy rates in 2007 went up.In a nutshell, it doesn't work! Yet, Obama is bent on driving the country in this direction which will invariably increase the abortion rate. Does he even need to give lip service to "common ground" with pro-lifers anymore? Just drop the pretense already!

Did England and Europe actually have an increase in teen pregnancy?
