Care Net President Melinda Delahoyde responded to news Friday that President Obama has directed the Department of Health and Human Services to overturn regulations that protect medical professionals from being forced to perform or refer for abortion.Nice. Way ta go, O! Force doctors to perform abortions, or prescribe abortions? After taking the Hippocratic oath? Apparently some doctors have no problem with it, but it seems like any doctor opposed to abortion won't be a doctor much longer. Or nurse. Or any other health care professional for that reason. The medical profession will be left with nothing but ghouls, which I'm sure doesn't bother The One at all.
Don't think this is a big deal? Tell that to Care Net's National Medical Consultant Sandy Christiansen, MD, who was interviewed by CNN to share her story of discrimination during her residency. She now serves as the medical director of Care Net Pregnancy Center of Frederick, MD. Her story is available on the Care Net website. Here's the CNN video.
The LA Times has more:

For more than 30 years, federal law has allowed doctors and nurses to decline to provide abortion services as a matter of conscience, a protection that is not subject to rule making.Don't tell that to Obama. He doesn't care. Who's rumored to be on tap for the HHS post? Kathleen Sebelius, pictured below:
